Day 103: A Day In Moraga

Location: Moraga, CA

We planned to spend today in Moraga, so we slept in. I used the groceries we bought last night to make French toast, vegetarian sausage and fried eggs. We also spent a while playing with Data and Kelsey in the yard and pool. We went to Safeway in Lafayette around 3 p.m. to buy groceries for tonight. We agreed to cook dinner and dessert for the Nelsons tonight, so we picked up ingredients for salad, pasta and cobbler. Unfortunately, the produce department was out of blueberries and blackberries, so I had to improvise with raspberries and strawberries. We left Safeway and made it all the way back to Moraga before I realized that I had left my wallet in the tray of our shopping cart. I dropped Julia off and went back to try and find it. Luckily, one of the employees discovered it and turned it in to Customer Service.

We spent the remainder of the afternoon relaxing and making dinner. Julia made a salad with pears, walnuts, gorgonzola and hand-made dressing that she likes, we both made some pasta with a blend of marinara and alfredo sauces and I made the experimental cobbler. We brought the food down to the house, where everyone began to dig in. Wisti’s niece is visiting from the San Diego area to escape smoke from the wildfires, but there was enough food for all eight of us.

We are now back in the apartment and preparing for an early bedtime. Tomorrow, we are going to go back into the city, but we need to be back in Moraga at 6 p.m. to look after the kids for the night.

We have secured photo passes for the Exotic Erotic Ball (E.E.B.). Snoop Dogg is performing tomorrow night at 10 p.m., but we may not be able to make it into the city for that. The ball itself takes place on Saturday, and should provide us with a very interesting experience. We won’t be dressing up (or down), but we feel as though we’d rather be the people with stories to tell than the people saying “I’ve heard stories about that.”

Here are some photos from today. Just for Mary and Frank, I took some photos of Founder! Click “there’s more to this” to see them all.
