Although we had big expectations for today, we managed to sleep until 2 p.m. again, so they were dramatically reduced. We needed the sleep, though, so I can’t complain. Our first stop was the nearby FedEx Kinkos, where I sent off my Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 lens for repair. We then hopped on to the B.A.R.T. into the city.
We tried to find Halloween costumes in the Haight-Ashbury area, a very trendy area, but most of the stores were selling skimpy outfits or plain old vintage clothes, so we didn’t find anything we liked. I don’t really have any desire to dress up, so a costume would have to really be great for me to want to buy it. We were thinking about doing Calvin & Hobbes, but finding a Hobbes costume would be difficult.
After giving up our search, Amanda met us at Cha Cha Cha with her friend Mary Alice for dinner. The food was described as Latin and Caribbean. None of us were particularly impressed by the food. Julia and I had fried potatoes, black bean soup and a vegetable plate. The dishes were small and the food was a little bland. Not bad, but not great.
After dinner, Amanda, Julia and I went to the San Francisco Shopping Centre above the Powell Street B.A.R.T. station, where we bought ice cream and cookies for dessert. We said goodbye to Amanda and got back on the B.A.R.T. We thought about seeing a movie in Walnut Creek, which is near Morinda, but decided instead to take it easy tonight in an attempt to get to bed early.
Tomorrow, we are going to drive into the city. By driving, we will be able to cross the Golden Gate Bridge and take photos of the city’s skyline. We may also go to Sausalito. Having the car will also allow me to bring the tripod into the city for after-dark shooting.
Here are a few photos from today. Click “there’s more to this” to see them all.

Julia in the “morning.” I happen to think the lighting in this photo is really great.

Data pouting outside.

It’s not even Halloween yet.

I hate the holidays.
aw, sorry to hear cha cha cha’s wasn’t that great for you. it was always our favorite spot to go. We DID always eat the meat dishes, so that might have something to do with it :\
oh, and it’s a tapas place, which is all small plates. That at least explains the size.
Julia could be Calvin, and you can borrow from Mister Exotic Erotic to be Hobbs? How difficult would that be?
i always loved going through sausalito.. maybe its the view of sf and the ocean and alcatraz and all that..
i also used to smoke a lot of weed though, so i dunno.
+1 lolz
